Lyrics

play I caught you watching me under the light
play Can I realign?
play They say it's easy to leave you behind
play I don't want try

play Cut cover, take that test
play Hold courage to your chest
play Don't wanna wait for you
play Don't wanna have to lose
play all that i've compromised
play to feel another high
play I've got to keep it down tonight

play And oh, oh, oh
play I was a king under your control
play And oh, oh, oh
play I wanna feel like you've let me go
play So let me go

play Don't you remember how I used to like
play being on the line?
play I dreamed you dreamed of me calling out my name
play Is it worth the price?

play Cut cover, take that test
play Hold courage to your chest
play Don't wanna wait for you
play Don't wanna have to lose
play All that I've compromised
play to feel another high
play I've got to keep it down tonight

play And oh, oh, oh
play I was a king under your control
play And oh, oh, oh
play I wanna feel like you've let me go

play I had to break myself to carry on
play No love and no admission
play Take this from me tonight
play Oh, let's fight
play Oh, let's fight
play Oh, let's fight
play Oh

play And oh, oh, oh
play I was a king under your control
play And oh, oh, oh
play I wanna feel like you've let me go
play So let me go

play Let go, let go, let go of everything
play Let go, let go, let go of everything
play Let go, let go, let go of everything
play Let go, let go, let go of everything

meaning Meaning

Olly Alexander explained to Digital Spy the meaning of the song:

It's about being in a relationship with someone and how that can feel really intoxicating, but that can be really addictive and you can feel like a king. You know it has to end and you feel it's going bad, but you don't feel strong enough to end it yourself. You want the other person to end it. That's what I felt like I was going through over the period of a year, and then towards the end, I wrote the song.
